Bonnie’s Huntington

I never thought that I would grow up and return to the town where I was raised. When you start “at the best” it is hard to find anything better! I live and cover the wonderful Township of Huntington which encompasses 9 different zip codes and towns and Incorporated Villages across the North Shore of Long Island with a population of over 200,000. The proximity to Manhattan and to the beaches, Bays, and Harbors help to maintain a high real estate value. A New England charm is present in the former whaling villages that were created when Huntington was founded in 1653 and lobsters, clams, and oysters are still harvested in the Bays and several harbors that are part of the geography of this popular area.

Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington Village, and Northport Village are popular for their quaint atmosphere and shops which have a “small town” atmosphere but also provide a sophisticated and active community feeling with museums, fine dining, and the Paramount Theater, a highly rated musical /entertainment venue and the Engelman Theater which provides off-Broadway quality productions without having to commute into NYC. St. Patrick’s Day and Memorial Day find Main Street in Huntington alive with marching bands and floats and the local pubs and bars providing food and beverage for the participants.

People love the proximity to New York City but also the beaches, golf courses, equestrian facilities, and hiking trails and the abundance of programs that are offered by the YMCA and the many sports leagues that help to burn off all the energy of our active athletic youth.

Prices range from $500,000 for a small starter home to upwards of $15 million. Our school districts are highly rated and for those who want more options, there are many excellent private and parochial schools.

Huntington is one of the most “searched” towns on the internet on Long Island, popular for all that it has to offer. Having grown up here and then having returned to raise my children, has given me an extensive knowledge of the neighborhoods and all that this waterfront community provides. I would love to introduce you to my hometown!
